We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead Productivity & Internal Tools - 3 teams inside Bolt's Foundation Platform org that own the internal developer platform, AI, and productivity systems the whole company builds on. About the role This is a Senior Engineering Manager role - the inflection point where the craft shifts to leading through Engineering Managers, not ICs. You set technical direction and the operating system for delivery across these domains, build leadership capability in your managers, and own the group's staffing, strategy, and long-term health (impact horizon ~12+ months). Main tasks and responsibilities: Strong engineering leadership background, including experience leading managers and building high-performing, multi-team organizations. Proven ownership of a product group, platform, or domain, driving technical direction, roadmap, delivery health, architecture, and investment trade-offs. Experience building and scaling developer platforms, productivity systems or developer tooling (e.g., CI/CD, observability, testing, local development). Strong leadership in developing Engineering Managers, driving accountability, improving delivery across multiple teams, and addressing underperformance effectively. Credible technical expertise in scalable systems, cloud infrastructure, microservices, modern engineering practices, and AI-enabled solutions, with the ability to set technical direction. Experience with stakeholder management, clear communication, and data-driven decision-making, track record of partnering closely with Product Managers and influencing roadmap planning. About you: You are an experienced engineering leader who has successfully managed engineers and Engineering Managers in complex technology organizations. You thrive in platform engineering environments and are passionate about improving developer productivity, internal tooling, and engineering excellence at scale. You combine strong technical judgment with strategic thinking, balancing long-term platform investments, reliability, and innovation. You are excited by the opportunity to shape how AI and agent-based technologies transform software engineering workflows. You build high-performing organizations by coaching leaders, creating clear accountability, and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. You communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and excel at aligning diverse teams around shared goals.
