What we're looking for None of these are hard requirements - strong candidates tend to have most of them. If a couple are missing but you make up for it elsewhere, apply anyway. A year or more designing games - in a job, a serious solo project, or some mix. Hands-on Roblox design experience - systems, levels, progression, economy - or comparable game-dev work. Something you've shipped, or a portfolio showing how you make a game fun. An instinct for when something's off, and the stubbornness to tune until it isn't. Comfort moving between systems, levels, UX, and live content rather than one specialty. Ability to turn a fuzzy idea into a clear, buildable spec engineering and art can run with. Self-direction - you unblock yourself and your team quickly. Clear communication in English, written and spoken. You play games, and you care about making them. Nice to have A Roblox place, indie build, or game-jam entry you designed and shipped yourself. A live Roblox experience you've kept running, tuned, and updated over time. A read on what Roblox players want and how the community ticks. Comfort with economy design, progression math, and reading retention/monetization data. Prototyping in Luau or scripting your own designs to test them. Experience in remote, self-managing teams. Job Responsibilities Design gameplay that hooks and holds - core loops, mechanics, progression, economy - and spec it clearly enough to build without guessing. Take designs the whole way, pitch, prototype, tune, test on real players, and iterate live. Obsess over feel and clarity - systems that make sense without a tutorial, rewards that land, difficulty that pulls players forward. Range across systems, levels, UX, and live events rather than one narrow lane. Shape the games, bring strong opinions and back them with reasoning and playtests. Work closely with engineering, art, production, and QA. Move quickly from idea to playable, and let feedback and data decide what to keep. Read the data and the players - watch how people play, dig into metrics and retention, sharpen the next iteration. Mentor junior designers, explain the why, and keep morale high. What we offer A young, fast-moving Roblox gaming studio - we're 4 years in, and we move quick and have fun doing it. Real creative ownership, you shape the games, not just execute someone else's brief. A positive, supportive team that actually wants to see you grow, training and development opportunities included. A stable working relationship Modern, comfortable working conditions. Regular team events and management that trusts you, including flexibility to take time off when you need it. A family- and employee-friendly culture. The fun stuff: team gaming sessions, and the chance to playtest the games we're building.
