The IT Operations team at CARIAD Estonia ensures 24/7 on-desk support and quality assurance to digital services developed by CARIAD. Our Site Reliability Engineers maintain software systems and automated solutions for operational aspects within the CARIAD organization. They are responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting and fixing services in the CARIAD system environment together with Operations Engineers to ensure excellent customer experience. Successfully completed study in the field of computer science, or a comparable course of studies. Expertise in designing, analyzing, problem-solving and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems with ability to read and understand the code algorithm and to debug and prove the issues via code. Ability optimize code and automate routine tasks. Extensive experience with Cloud Platforms (e.g. Azure, AKS - Azure Kubernetes Service) as well as monitoring and logging SaaS solutions like Grafana, Elastic Stack, New Relic or similar. Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, AWS CDK – Cloud Development Kit, Bicep and Expertise around Linux, networking and security. Good knowledge of at least one programming language (i.e. Python, Go, Java) to have the ability to debug production issues during on-call. Good knowledge about the databases and SQL queries. Ability to work independently and to have proactive mindset. Autonomy and problem-solving skills. Like to actively engage with the team to discuss the future direction of our digital services. Collaborating with delivery, SRE, and Operations teams to perform Root Cause Analysis, conduct blameless postmortems, and translate findings into concrete reliability improvements that increase service stability and efficiency. Identifying and implementing automation opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve scalability, and support more efficient operation of digital services. Maintaining live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health using modern observability, logging, and alerting practices. Partnering with development teams on feature launches to ensure our customers are delivered reliable and scalable functionality. Defining of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to represent and measure service quality, together with the different Teams. Scaling systems sustainably through automation, infrastructure as code, and continuous improvements that increase reliability, operational efficiency, and delivery velocity. Troubleshooting production issues during on-call shifts by analyzing logs, metrics, code behavior, databases, and infrastructure signals to restore service quality quickly and sustainably.
